TEACH-SUD is a SAMHSA-funded, interprofessional UCSF project that strengthens education and training in substance use disorder (SUD) care to prepare future health professionals to deliver equitable, evidence-based, and stigma-free treatment. Bringing together faculty from the Schools of Medicine, Nursing, and Pharmacy alongside community partners, the project has developed profession-specific competencies, identified curricular gaps, and designed trauma-informed learning experiences, including simulations and community-based training. These efforts lay the foundation for a sustainable, collaborative curriculum that equips graduates to provide high-quality SUD care, particularly in underserved communities.
